About Dr. Terry S. Shapiro
Dr. Shapiro has been in the private practice of dentistry in East Setauket, Long Island since she graduated from the Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry in 1980. She is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the Suffolk County Dental Association, and the American Association of Women Dentists.
Dr. Shapiro has studied Cosmetic Dentistry at the Rosenthal Institute at New York University where she studied the most modern techniques to designing porcelain veneers and crowns for her patients. She also studied techniques to create life-like tooth colored fillings at the Nash Institute for Cosmetic Dentistry in Charlotte, North Carolina, and studied advanced dentures technique with Dr. Jack Turbyfill. She is currently enrolled in post-graduate implant training at NYU.
Dr. Shapiro has also been a participant at the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida for many years and has completed the Pankey Continuum. The Pankey Institute is recognized internationally as a leader in continuing dental education. Fundamental to the Institute’s purpose is an abiding commitment to excellence and integrity in the practice of dentistry, a commitment shared by Dr. Shapiro.
Dr. Shapiro has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement from the New York State Dental Association for accumulating over 1000 hours of Continuing Education credits.
Dr. Shapiro served for three years on the Peer Review Committee and was a member of the Speakers Bureau of the Suffolk County Dental Association. She was a Delegate from Brookhaven to the Suffolk County Dental Association and a member of the Membership Committee. She is active in the local community and is often invited by civic groups to speak on oral health.

Our newly renovated and state-of-the-art East Setauket dental office offers digital radiography for improved diagnosis and communication. We have a fully integrated and networked computer system.
